Dental hygienist

Building trust first is what makes it possible to help anxious patients.

Trained as a dental assistant in 2008, then as a prophylaxis assistant (ZMP) in 2012, then completed dental hygienist qualification (DH) in 2014. Over ten years of experience in professional cleaning and supportive periodontal therapy.

In the team, responsible for prophylaxis appointments and for the supporting maintenance therapy after periodontal treatment. Plans recall intervals individually — not from routine, but adapted to the current finding and how well daily home care is going.

Particular experience with anxious patients and with older patients for whom day-to-day mouth care is becoming harder.

Career path

  1. 2005 Began training as a dental assistant
  2. 2008 Completed dental-assistant training; subsequent work at a general dental practice
  3. 2012 Continuing qualification as a prophylaxis assistant (ZMP)
  4. 2014 Qualified as a dental hygienist (DH)
  5. 2016 Joined the team at the practice at Stadtgarten
  6. 2020 Focus shift: maintenance therapy after periodontal treatment

Day-to-day in the practice

A prophylaxis appointment follows a set sequence: assessment, a look at daily brushing habits, professional cleaning, polishing and fluoride application at the end. For new patients, the slot is noticeably longer than the cleaning itself — time set aside for questions.

A second focus is maintenance therapy after periodontal treatment. Intervals are set individually — not every three months out of routine, but adapted to the current finding and how home care is going.

For anxious patients, the first visit is deliberately low-threshold: conversation first, treatment only when both sides feel ready for it.
