Focus area (Tätigkeitsschwerpunkt)

A factual note about a particular area of dental work, without promising a specific treatment outcome.

A focus area (Tätigkeitsschwerpunkt) indicates that a dentist works especially regularly in a certain field and continues training there. Such information is meant to help patients orient themselves, for example in implant dentistry, periodontology, or tooth-preserving dentistry.

The distinction matters: a focus area is not a guarantee of a particular treatment result. It is also not automatically the same as a formal specialist designation. German dentistry does have specialist designations in certain recognized fields; a focus area describes a particular area of professional work.

Which titles or descriptions may be used, and which proof is required, depends on professional rules, chamber requirements, and sometimes professional societies. On the team page, we therefore present this information factually and without promising treatment outcomes.
