Your first appointment with us
What to expect at your first appointment — step by step, no surprises.
We want you to feel taken care of from the very first moment. Here is a short overview of how a first appointment with us works.
01
Before the appointment
Insurance card, existing records and around 60 minutes of time.
02
At the appointment
A calm conversation, examination, explained findings and a written plan.
03
If you are unsure
Questions are welcome in advance, especially about anxiety or unclear costs.
Before you come
For your first appointment, please bring your health insurance card, your bonus booklet if you keep one, and your allergy passport. If you have recent X-rays from another practice, send them digitally in advance to kontakt@praxis-am-garten.example or bring them along to the appointment.
Plan a little extra time for your first appointment — around 60 minutes. About 10 to 15 minutes are for the initial conversation.
At the appointment
We begin with a calm initial conversation: we ask about your concern, any previous treatments, pre-existing conditions and any medication. You are welcome to ask anything, even small things.
A systematic examination of your teeth, gums and oral mucosa follows. If we think an X-ray is needed, we discuss this with you beforehand.
At the end of the appointment, you receive a written summary of findings and — if a treatment is advisable — a detailed treatment-and-cost plan. You decide in your own time, even after the appointment if you prefer.
If you are anxious
Anxiety about visiting the dentist is common and legitimate. We take it seriously. Just mention it when booking — we plan more time, work at the pace that suits you and start with a calm conversation, no treatment.
If something becomes too much during an appointment, give us a signal. We pause, as often as you need.
If anything is unclear
Write to us or give us a call, even before your first appointment. We are happy to answer questions about how things work, about costs or accessibility, even without any treatment in mind.
